Mateenah Dewangree

Physiotherapist | BSc (Hons)

Rehabilitation & Pain Management

Mateenah graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2020 with a BSc in Physiotherapy (Hons). She went on to complete her community service year at Church of Scotland Hospital in deep rural KwaZulu-Natal, an experience that exposed her to a diverse patient population and the realities of providing healthcare in a resource-limited setting.

Since then, she has continued to build on her clinical knowledge and skills, with a particular interest in pain management, orthopaedic rehabilitation and the management of chronic conditions. She has completed further courses in pain mechanisms, as well as both Level 1 and Level 2 Dry Needling, and takes an evidence-informed, patient-centred approach to treatment. Her philosophy is that effective physiotherapy goes beyond simply treating symptoms — it involves understanding the person behind the pain, identifying what matters to them and working together towards meaningful, sustainable improvements in movement and function.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll most likely find Mateenah planning her next adventure, discovering a new restaurant or searching for what she considers to be the perfect cup of coffee. An avid traveller, Africa has been her latest adventure, although she’s equally happy exploring closer to home — preferably with good food involved. She’s also a proud cat mom who has absolutely no issue spending her salary on them, and is married to her high-school sweetheart.
