Candice Jane Langford
Pelvic Physiotherapist
Candice Langford earned her Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Cape Town, qualifying in 2014. Originally from Durban, her career has taken her from running her own practice in Ballito to Grand Cayman in the Caribbean, where she served as Clinical Lead of a multidisciplinary team, before returning to her hometown of Durban in 2025.
With over a decade of hands-on clinical experience, Candice has a special interest in pelvic and sexual health physiotherapy, bridging musculoskeletal expertise with an understanding of pelvic function to deliver holistic, patient-centred care across all life stages. She takes an inquisitive, lateral-thinking approach to complex presentations and is committed to providing personalised, evidence-informed care within a safe, non-judgemental environment. Her clinical practice is further enriched by additional training in trauma counselling, qualification as an MSH-verified sex counsellor, and her BASI Mat and Reformer Pilates certification.
Pelvic health physiotherapy can effectively assess and manage symptoms associated with a wide range of conditions, including pelvic girdle pain, hip pain, chronic lower back pain, bladder leaks, urinary urgency and frequency, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, vaginismus, constipation, postpartum recovery, diastasis recti, antenatal discomfort, chronic overlapping pain syndromes and genitourinary symptoms of menopause.
Candice offers a range of physiotherapy treatments to improve function, reduce pain and support long-term pelvic health.
Manual Therapy Hands-on assessment and treatment of relevant biomechanical chains – including the TMJ, neck, back, abdomen, hip, and pelvis, to restore movement, reduce muscle tension and improve joint mobility.
Internal Assessment & Treatment Where necessary and appropriate, internal pelvic floor assessment and treatment is performed to evaluate and treat pelvic floor dysfunction, guiding a more targeted and effective treatment plan.
Exercise Rehabilitation Individualised programmes to improve pelvic floor muscle function, core control and overall movement – including postpartum rehabilitation, return to exercise assessment and guidance and Pilates-informed programming.
Pelvic Floor Retraining Guided strategies to address your symptoms (eg. pain, heaviness, urgency, frequency, incontinence and constipation) through a combination of behavioural and physiotherapeutic interventions.
Dry Needling Where indicated, needling is applied to areas of muscular tension to improve function and support recovery – effective for pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, hip pain, sciatica, and TMJ dysfunction.
Scar Tissue Management Assessment and treatment of abdominal, caesarean, episiotomy, and perineal scars to improve tissue mobility, reduce sensitivity, and support recovery.
Patient Education Every patient receives clear, accessible information about their condition and the factors contributing to their symptoms – building confidence, supporting informed decision-making, and promoting long-term self-management.
Home Programming Each session is supported by a tailored home programme to maintain progress between appointments and keep patients actively involved in their recovery.
Online Self-Guided Programmes For those managing penetrative pain or bladder leaks, structured home-based online programmes are available to work through in your own time and space.
